Assistant Head of Primary needed for a leading international school in Shanghai!
SeekTeachers is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Head of Primary to join our client in August 2018. This is one of the leading school in the country and part of an established school group in Asia.
The school is located in the outskirt of Shanghai city with a large and modern purpose built campus set on 40,000 square meters of green space, surrounded by farm land. Students enjoy state of the art facilities including an Olympic size swimming pool, gymnasium and all grass football pitch. The classrooms are spacious and light filled.
Requirements to apply:
**Bachelor degree and above in Primary Education
**Recognised teaching qualification
**Evidence of ongoing professional development
**Hold or working towards NPQH or ILMP
**Experience in leadership role
**International experience is desirable
**Experience in a pastoral role or managing AEN is desirable
Duties and responsibilities:
**Member of the Primary Leadership Team, actively contributing to the strategic planning and development of the School for the future
**Lead on curriculum development and innovation
**Actively promote and be responsible for pupil achievement
**Be a class teacher role model for colleagues, demonstrating and articulating high expectations, high standards of pupil achievement, classroom management and organisation
**Lead a strategic curriculum team consisting of staff from across the school – leading, coordinating and managing their work, which will be directly related to priorities identified in the School Development Plan, promoting and facilitating distributed leadership within this
**To share responsibility for the performance management of staff
**Support emerging leaders and subject leads
**Organising and participating in whole school functions, including Parent Teacher Conferences, celebration of achievement events, information evenings, leading assemblies and social events
**Ensuring effective communication systems with parents are maintained and developed, with particular regard to the achievement, progress, and well-being of individual students
**Supporting the collation, analysis and use of assessment data for the tracking of student progress, in conjunction with the Head of Primary and Primary Academic Lead
**Coordinating student transition alongside the Head of School and EY Lead
**Liaison with the AEN and EAL Departments concerning the support and assessment of students with special educational needs and English Language Learners
**To carry out further duties not specified above as and when required by the Head of Primary School or members of the CLT
