Head of Math Department - Secondary Leadership job in Switzerland | August 2018 start
I am currently recruiting an experienced and qualified Math teacherr to join one of the best international schools in Switzerland. The school welcomes around 600 students coming from different social and ethnic backgrounds and delivers the International Baccalaureate Curriculum.
The school offers an amazing environment for teachers that a looking to practise winter sports such as skiing and walking. Switzerland is known for its high cost of living, but also for its incredible living standards and proximity with countries such as France, Italy or even Germany.
The school is not only international by the curriculum it delivers but also by the staff and the students enrolled at the school. Teachers are qualified and have experience in teaching internationally, with students mainly coming from Italy, Spain, France, US or the United Kingdom.
The School Leadership team is willing to recruit the right candidate, with the following:

BA Degree Math or in a related subject

Teaching qualification such as PGCE or QTS in Math
-
Minimum of two years of stable experience
-
IB experience is preferred
-
MUST hold an EU passport or EU work permit
-
International experience is preferred
-
Ability to use technology in the classroom
-
Have passion for all aspects of education

Bring enthusiasm to the school environment
As a Head of Math, you will:
-
Promote a positive learning across the governmental schools
-
Deliver the curriculum according to up to date teaching and learning strategies
-
Stimulate young Emiratis childrens
-
Plan PD sessions across the schools within the allocated region
-
Plan and attend weekly subject meetings
-
Have an enthusiastic and motivated personality
-
Keep track of the implementation of strategies in the classroom
-
Have overall responsibility for the Assessment, Recording and Reporting within the department.

Manage effectively and efficiently all resources within the department.

Manage the development of staff in accordance with whole school, department and
-
individual needs.

Represent the department as necessary within the school and at meetings with governors, parents, inspectors, feeder schools, other secondary schools etc.

If the department is within a faculty, to liaise with and support the faculty head.

Promote a purposeful, disciplined and thriving learning environment within the department which aims to raise student expectations and self-esteem.
