Head of Secondary in Qatar
 
Our client is a leading British National Curriculum school looking for an experienced Head of Secondary to be interviewed now for an August/September staff.  Please send your CV with a photo and 3 references to ash@SeekTeachers.com if you meet the following criteria:
 
**Have a degree in education or a bachelor’s degree with a PGCE
**An M.Ed or NPQH
**At least 3-5 years stable experience
**Be a native speaker of English
**Have strong and up to date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum

The school is located in Doha which is the capital of Qatar. Qatar's recent discover of gas and oil, along with being the first Arab nation to host the FiFA World Cup 2022 has put it on the world map. Projects here are soaring and it is already being labelled the Monte Carlo of the Middle East.

You need to be a candidate who has previous experience of working as a Head of Secondary and ideally someone who is already familiar with Arabic culture. Candidates that have held Headships in the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman etc are strongly welcomed to apply for this role. Being bilingual is a benefit but not essential. The school is already accredited by CIS and the IB and is a member of the Cambridge Examination Group.  If you have experience of taking a school through successful CIS accreditation this will be beneficial to your application.  Our client will not consider Educaton Consultants or Head of Secondary where you have done short term assignments and where it shows a lot of movement on the CV. The client is looking for stable candidates that have the experience of doing the job at this level.
 
The majority of the students are Qatari although there is an increase in the number of expatriates now coming to Doha as the country is developing fast vertically. If you missed the bubble of Dubai, now is the time to apply for a country set to take over.

Job Description:
**Be responsible for the Secondary School data
**Oversee all Secondary Policies and Procedures
**Carry out staff observations
**Promote the schools mission statement and ethos
**Be involved for recruitment and retention of staff
**Carry out staff induction for new teachers
**Carry out staff INSET's
**Be able to plan and organise timetabling
**Be able to deploy and use a VLE in line with the schools vision
**Be a good team player and personable
**Have experience dealing with parents
**Have experience of budgeting
**Have good knowledge of what is required to take a school through successful CIS accreditation and IB accreditation
**Be responsible for the day to day management of the Secondary Department.
**Be responsible for the deployment of teachers and the assignment of their responsibilities, in consultation with the Principal.
**Oversee disciplinary matters, through the Head of Pastoral, involving Secondary pupils which originate in or out of school and liaise with Executive as necessary.
**To work to further strengthen the link between the school and parents.
**To oversee daily matters such as students’ attendance, registers, cover, etc. through the Head of Pastoral.
**To lead regular meetings of Secondary staff.
**To support the development and implementation of the MIS.
**To contribute to Secondary and whole school strategic planning and its implementation.
**To co-ordinate curriculum planning, development and implementation in association with the Academic Coordinators and Heads of Faculties.
**To maintain, develop and reinforce the highest standard of staff performance and professionalism.
**To promote respect, courtesy and teamwork amongst students and staff.
**To assist or undertake any reasonable task as deemed necessary by the Principal.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
