SeekTeachers is recruiting for an experienced and professional Chemistry teacher to join our reputable client in the vibrant Shanghai.
Shanghai is the fast growing city in China mixed of rich heritage of ancient historic Chinese culture and landmark as well as the growing Pudong Skyline makes the city a modern and thriving environment. There are many attractions in the city, from museums, ancient towns to shopping arcades, world financial centres and nightclubs.
This private school is located at the university area in the city of Shanghai and provides an excellent and quiet learning environment for students. The school has well-equipped facilities such as climate controlled classroom, science labs, computer labs, library, tennis courts, basketball courts, gymnasium and canteen.
The whole school has approximately 400 students and they are all national Chinese students who have a good record of academic results. The school follows UK National Curriculum for IGCSE and A’Level students aged 15-18 and ensure all students take parts in their Cambridge International Examination (CIE) which are accepted by all universities globally.
The school also has more than 40 staff composed of 70% expatriate teachers mainly from UK, USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. There are also 30% well-trained non-expatriate teachers too. The work week consists of 30-35 hours Monday to Friday and teachers normally get about 50 days holiday per annum.
Duties and responsibilities:
*Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to students up to Diploma Programme
*Monitoring, accessing and recording students' learning progress
*Assisting lab activities
*Maintaining class discipline
*Setting and marking homework and exams
*Participating in continuous professional development courses
*Participating in parents meetings
*Participating in school meetings
Shanghai has 2 international airports connected to all international destinations i.e. London, New York and Paris. Food is amazing in Shanghai, you will not only find Shanghai cuisine but also food from other province and all around the world.
