Requirements

Degree in English or equivalent
PGCE In English with QTS
CELTA/DELTA or TEFL is a bonus
Ideally 2 years teaching experience
Western trained
Experience of teaching in the GCC is beneficial
Tech savvy
Flexble to adapt to the teaching culture in Doha.

The ideal candidate will be able to deliver up A level standard and be able to work as part of a team as well as individually. If you have experience teaching students in the GCC or MENA region it will be advantageous.

Job Description

Plan effectively lessons of English for KS3, KS4 and KS5
Create resources for your English lesson
Plan collaboratively with your department
Be an excellent role model for your students in line with the school ethos, mission and values
Attend staff briefing
Contribute to English department meetings
Carry out lunch duty
Help students after school if needed
Ensure your marking is up to date
Create effective wall dispays to promote English in your classroom and good work

Al Arqam Academy

The school was established in 1996 as a private Girls’ Arabic School, but was distinctive as it included modern teaching methods and a variety of creative development programs. In 2004, keeping pace with education reforms in Qatar, the school changed to an international English curriculum, combined with a progressive Arabic and Islamic Studies syllabus. The school is a fully accredited Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) centre.

The accommodation provided by Al Arqam Academy is not only in a perfect location but is virtually brand new and immaculate.
