SeekTeachers is recruiting for an experienced and professional school counsellor to join our client in Shanghai, China. The position is to commence in August 2017. 
 
Requirements to apply:
*Bachelor degree and above in relevant subject
*Minimum of 5 years working experience in college and career counselling
*Teaching experience is beneficial

Our client is a non-profit bilingual school located in the suburb of Shanghai city, approximately about 40 mins away from city centre. The school has over 400 students with over 20 nationalities at present and provide boarding facilities to their secondary students. 
 
The school is looking for an experienced and positive counsellor to join them. The main responsibilities of the position include:
 
- Meet individually with Year 11 and 12 students to guide them through all facets of the college search and application process including developing a college list and testing plans, preparing interviews and all related activities relevant to application in a variety of countries 
- Meet with families to help them understand the process and appropriate fit 
- Help develop the college counselling curriculum and teach classes on a weekly basis 
- Take on assigned responsibilities/projects for the College Counselling office
- Work closely with coordinators and teachers to insure completion of college requirements and recommendation letters on a timely basis 
- Help plan and chaperone college tours and other school activities 
- Contribute to the online bilingual College Handbook resource

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 22,000 up to 30,000  CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
