I have a client in Qatar who is looking for an experienced Canadian administrator to lead the school's Brtisih Columbia Education program. Please review the following and if you are interest send me your CV.

This role supports the school Principal in his instructional leadership by assuming the following responsibilities:
  1. Supports in all aspects of planning for higher grades as they get introduced at my client's school.
  2. Ensures implementation of the British Columbia curriculum using school selected programs.
  3. Guides, supports and supervises BC Program teachers in areas of class management, planning for instruction, delivery of differentiated instruction and use of assessment to maximize student growth potential towards the BC curriculum Prescribed Learning Outcomes (PLO's) and chances of their success in the Graduation Program.
  4. Supports BC Program teachers in planning and supervising grade-appropriate student activities.
  5. Guides the BC teachers in the use of learning resources available at the school. Facilitates engaging teachers in resourcing decisions to ensure school is responsive to their needs.
  6. Plans and contributes to the delivery of professional development events to address the needs of teachers new to the school and returning teachers with a focus on the objectives identified in the school growth plans.
  7. Plans and supervises the implementation of programs that serve differentiated learning needs of students in critical areas.
  8. Conducts analyses of student assessment to aid school decision making in the immediate term and for future growth planning.
  9. Contributes to better parent engagement in student learning by participating in awareness events organized by the school and helping teachers identify Contributes to healthy teacher morale within the BC team by helping teachers positively view the challenges of the profession and working in an international setting with a different culture and by constructively and proactively communicating teacher concerns to the school Principal to help address these concerns.
  10. Contributes to the school culture of collaboration and teamwork by working collaboratively with members of the school Administration Team.

Critical Role Requirements 

These requirements are identified to guide selection decisions including the recommendations interviewers make about candidates. They were not included in the advertized role description.
  1. Solid teaching abilities (planning, delivery, assessment), working with a competency-based-curriculum, implementing the BC approach to teaching and learning including the use of inquiry learning opportunities, the importance of literacy in all subjects, the integration of teaching, scaffolding teaching, role of assessment.
  2. The planning, organization and communication skills needed for managerial positions requiring multi-tasking and engagement with people.
  3. Attitudes: values professional learning communities, commitment to teamwork, tolerance to frustration/imperfection, respect for other cultures.
Qualifications and Experience 
  1. Valid British Columbia professional teaching license. Similar licenses from other Canadian provinces will be considered if applicant is willing to pursue BC certification.
  2.  Strong teaching (planning, delivery, assessment) and teacher academic supervision experience in one of the Canadian competency-based curricula (K-7), preferably in the province of British Columbia. Applicants who have not held formal teacher academic supervision roles but have assumed similar responsibilities on project bases will be considered. Experience with ESL learners is a strong plus.
  3. Superior teaching skills with abilities to inspire young learners and model for teachers.
  4. Experience in planning and delivering professional development events for teachers.
  5. Excellent planning, organization and communication skills.
  6. Commitment to do the best for students. Flexibility, patience and a nurturing attitude with openness to work in a different culture with a private  fairly young fast growing school.

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 21000  QAR (Qatar Riyal) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE

Additional information:
1. End of service benefit at the rate of 80% of one-month’s gross salary for every full year of service
2. Large accommodation with facilities: a single administrator/married with no children receive a two-bedroom apartment. Apartments are in complexes with swimming pool and gym. Housing allowances provided upon the request of an administrator at the rate paid by the school.
3. Transportation allowance is provided.
4. Child tuition discount is 100%.
5. Excess baggage reimbursement allowance.
6. Economy airfare at the beginning and end of the contract.
7. Annual economy round-trip air fare to point of origin at the time of summer vacation for the contracts of more than one year.
8. Private medical local insurance.
9. Paid Summer Leave.
10. School will arrange and bear the Qatar government fee of your visa, work permit and national identification.
11. Reimbursement of fees paid for the BC Ministry of Education Teachers Regulation Branch for applying for the BC teacher certification. Miscellaneous expenses are not covered by the school.
