An outstanding international school in Cairo is looking for a professional and experienced Head of Primary to join them in August 2017.  This well established school follows the UK national curriculum as well as International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma programme with the focus on international perspectives.
 
This is an international school with 1,500 students aged between 3 and 18.  Students are comprised of 85% Egyptian students and 15% expatriates with over 30 different nationalities.  The teaching staff are also mixed with 80% of expatriates (majority from the UK) and 20% non-expatriates.  Staff is continually provided professional development and support in all areas to build forward thinking instructors.
 
The facilities in the school include well stocked classrooms, art studio, computer labs, libraries, science labs, swimming pools, recreational areas, medical room, indoor and outdoor cafeteria.  The work week consists of 36 teaching hours a week and the staff get approximately 60 holidays per year.  
 
Roles & Responsibilities: 
*Work closely with the school Principal in other parts of the school
*To ensure that the ethos which underpin the school’s mission are reflected in the department’s work
*To guide department staff to achieve the highest standards of performance
*To take an active role in guiding the member of staff to improve his/her performance
*To regularly review the teaching methods and materials of the department and to ensure that there is a high quality of teaching materials
*Provide an environment where members of staff are motivated to prepare and share quality materials with one another
*To assist in implementing the school’s strategic plan at the department level
*To assist in the scheduling of the department timetable
*To assist in set up and start internal examinations
*To appraise and plan professional development of departmental staff
*To assist in any other administrative work as assigned by the school management

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Salary Range:
