Principal required for small but growing school in Qatar. 
 
Are you a manager looking to take that first role into leadserhip?
Do you have have experience of being a Principal?
Would you like to work in a thriving set up school in Doha?
 
Now is the time, due to a family emergency the existing Principal is looking to head home and so they need someone who is able to join in a month or so. 
 
The ideal candidate will be female who is either looking for their first headship or someone that has some experience of leadership with knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and has a "can do" attitude. You will need to be a team player and people’s person with strong leadership skills to guide the team in the right direction.
 
Having knowledge of the UK curriculum is essential to fit in to the ethos of this school. In addition, if you have experience of leading schools in the MENA region this will be beneficial so you are aware of the challenges to be successful in the role

The school is located in heart of Doha and close to the central corniche area. It is a new school and the existing Principal has effectively set the curriculum and structure up for a Principal to come in and join and progress the organisation. Students are very keen and friendly and keen to learn. As part of your role you will be working closely with a female Admin Deputy.
 
Requirements to apply
**Degree in Education or Degree with PGCE
**Ideally an M.Ed in education or NPQH
**Ideally 2 years’ management experience
**Western trained
**Native speaker of English
**Up to date with UK National Primary Curriculum

Job Description
The Head of School has full responsibility for the administration of the school and answering to the CEO of the school.  He/She is responsible for its overall functioning and future direction in order to provide for the effective care and education of the students through facilitation of their spiritual, social, academic and personal development within resource and budget constraints. This leadership and direction will be consistent with Islamic teachings, principles and values, will engage in the processes of team building, delegation and development of personnel, and will ensure curriculum planning and development, program implementation and evaluation processes.
 
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
**Be available to teachers, parents and students and the wider community for consultation about concerns, suggestions etc.
**Make final decisions regarding admission and dismissal of students
**Be responsible overall for behavioral standards in the school 
**Conduct regular meetings with other members of the administrative team
**Ensure adequate supervision of students at all times during the school day
**Set student safety guidelines and policies and be responsible for safety of students during the day and after school.
**Set the agenda for meetings of the entire faculty
**Ideally, have some set classroom contact time with students (teaching a class/regular substitutions, etc.)
**Work with the Curriculum Coordinator, teachers, and the CEO to maintain transparency of procedures and decision making, and thus also maintain trust at the school
 
Short to Midterm Planning
**Set the school calendar and approve special events which affect the calendar
**Work with the Curriculum Coordinator on teaching allotments and preparation of the master schedules
**Recommend to the CEO skipping of or retention at all grade levels after due consultation with the Curriculum Coordinator, teachers and parents
**Liaise with the IT coordinator to develop the IT strategy
**With input from teachers, develop an organizational policy manual, approved by the CEO.
**Work with the Curriculum Coordinator to develop and maintain a web site for the school which acts a major communication, marketing and recruitment tool for the school.
**Lead the formation of the school Board of Trustees
 
Long Term Vision
**Implement policies set by the CEO
**Implement QNSA and SEC (Supreme Education Council) recommendations
**Review the Staff Handbook each year and update where necessary.
**Work with the leadership team, teaching staff,  classified staff, and parents to develop a vision statement which is CEO and Board approved.
**Work with the CEO, Board, teachers, parents and classified staff to analyze the organizational structure of the school to ensure the environment and operational procedures are moving students toward the vision of the school.
**Work with the CEO, Board, teachers, parents and classified staff to analyze the long term culture in order to continue to move forward harmoniously into the 21st century.
 
Overseeing Finances
**Be aware of and attempt to address major building and resource needs
**Approve purchase orders for substantial orders after review by the CEO
**Coordinate and oversee textbook budgets and annual classroom supply budgets 
**In consultation with the leadership team, to oversee school maintenance
 
Staffing
**Hire and dismiss teachers and staff, following due process
**In collaboration with the Curriculum Coordinator evaluate teacher performance by conducting formal and informal classroom visits  
**Oversee the secretarial staff: hours, holidays, overtime, and routines
**To be familiar with what duties each secretary oversees and which they share
**To have a monthly meeting with the office staff
**To set the work assignments for the bus drivers during school hours
**To be the contact person for the teachers’ housing committee which will present concerns regarding the school apartments
**To assist teachers with problems regarding financial matters and with Qatari government regulations
 
Community and Government Relations
**To participate in events related to local government agencies and the  local community so as to make and keep good relations and understanding
**To appeal to local governments to solve our problems 
**To make and keep good relations with the local news media
**To create and manage all aspects of school advertisements
**To prepare and submit any required documents to local government agencies

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelors Degree with a PGCE/PGDE (QTS)

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary up to 19000  AED (UAE Dirham) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
