An expanding international school in Malaysia is urgently seeking for an Academic Consultant to join their growing team. The position is to start in January 2016.
This international school adopts the British National curriculum and caters for children from aged 5 to 16, Key Stage 1 to 4. The whole school has just over 500 students with majority of them are local Malaysians. The school has a modern and purpose built campus located in an affluent residential area with good security.
Requirements to apply:
**Bachelor degree in Education or relevant subject
**Masters degree in Education (ideally in Curriculum and Instructions)
**Minimum of 5 years in leadership role, combined with at least 7 years of teaching experience
**MUST have knowledge and experience in the British National curriculum
**Experience in exam preparation and good understanding in procedures for conducting progressions tests and IGCSE checkpoints
**MUST be English native speaker
**Excellent leadership and organisation skills
**Strong ability to work individually and groups
Role and responsibilities:
*To provide teacher's training in curriculum structures, effective teaching approaches
*To source and prepare syllabus-specific resources and curriculum support material
*To assess the performance level students for CIE and provide workable strategies to bridge the gaps
*To endorse on the selection of students' schoolbooks and workbooks
*To provide subjects combination framework for Year 10 and 11 students and coordinate to what extent non-core subjects are taught to students taking these subjects
*To develop, coordinate and monitor the curriculum
*To serve as a resource person in curriculum, instructions and assessment across subjects
*To provide feedback on the effectiveness of current systems and raise awareness of new learning frameworks
*To identify and respond to the curriculum needs of students
*To act as CIE's teacher support
*To be on the lookout for professional development courses for teachers
*To lead on management, development and delivery of the curriculum and manage all aspects of quality improvement
*To be able to model outstanding practice of a confident and effective teacher
*To be responsible for assessments and evaluation
*To assist teachers with the implementation of new curriculum guides and materials
