SeekTeachers is recruiting for an experienced and professional school counsellor to join our client in Shanghai, China. The position is to commence in August 2016.

Our client is a non-profit bilingual school located in the suburb of Shanghai city, approximately about 40 mins away from city centre. The school has over 400 students with over 20 nationalities at present and provide boarding facilities to their secondary students.
The school is looking for an experienced and positive counsellor to join them. The main responsibilities of the position include:
- Meet individually with Year 11 and 12 students to guide them through all facets of the college search and application process including developing a college list and testing plans, preparing interviews and all related activities relevant to application in a variety of countries
- Meet with families to help them understand the process and appropriate fit
- Help develop the college counselling curriculum and teach classes on a weekly basis
- Take on assigned responsibilities/projects for the College Counselling office
- Work closely with coordinators and teachers to insure completion of college requirements and recommendation letters on a timely basis
- Help plan and chaperone college tours and other school activities
- Contribute to the online bilingual College Handbook resource

M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Newly Qualified Teachers are NOT considered
Prefer candidates with international experience
Additional:
**Experience teaching in Asia is beneficial
**Candidates with boarding school experience preferred
**Candidates aged over 27 preferred as per schools requirement
Remuneration Package
Salary Range:
A salary from 20000 up to 30000
CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month
based on experience and qualification,
25% Tax is applied
Housing:
Based on application fully furnished Housing provided

Flights:
Flight(s) provided for the teacher, spouse and up to 2 dependants
Tuition fees covered for children:

90 % discount is offered for child 1
90 % discount is offered for child 2
Contract Length:
2 years contract renewable on mutual agreement
