Head of Secondary in Dubai | Competitive TAX FREE salary with benefits
 
Our client is an IB school located in Dubai and is looking for a strong experienced Head of Secondary to start January 2016.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record with the IB MYP/DP programme or experience of working in a western medium school.
 
Requirements:
**Degree in education or
**Bachelor's degree with valid teaching qualification/license
**A Master in Education is preferred
**STRONG experience of the IB programme is highly desirable
**At least 3 years management experience
**MUST be a western trained
**MUST be an excellent communicator
 
As the Head of Secondary you will have the following personal qualities:

Professional Qualities
**Have strong knowledge and understanding of what is needed of secondary students from grade 6-12
**STRONG ability to monitor and observe teaching and learning in the classroom
**Have excellent behaviour management skills
**Be able to develop curriculums and implement the appropriate structure
**The ability to make decisions through collaboration, consultation and consensus, as appropriate
**Have effective time management skills and have the ability to schedule and prioritise effectively
**Be an exemplary teacher
 
You will have oversight and development of the whole Secondary School and the visions of the Secondary school in conjunction with the Principal.  You will need to be strong in writing policies and procedures and be able to coordinate and deliver the Diploma program at Grade 11 and 12.  If the Principal is away you will also be required to cover in his/her absence.
 
Key Responsibilities
**Create a safe and positive learning environment for students and staff alike
**Have oversight of years 6-12 as well as home groups
**Have an oversight of student’s attendance records and parent meetings
**Able to develop professional working relationships with teachers and students
**Regularly meet with the secondary Head of Departments, Coordinators or teaching staff
**Have experience of managing students through pastoral means and work closely with teachers for student wellbeing and duty of care
**Be experienced in dealing with student behaviour matters including suspending and expelling if need be
**Be able to make recommendations for enrolment review and allocate the appropriate staff member as needed for behaviour management
**Be prepared to take in students from PYP to MYP and from MYP to DP
 
You will be required to work closely with the MYP Coordinator and other key staff to meet curriculum goals. As the Head of Secondary you will also assist secondary staff in teaching matters in conjunction with the MYP Coordinator. Monitoring secondary staff and ensuring there is consistency in delivering the curriculum is essential to this role.
 
The school is a busy environment and you need to be energetic to get stuck in the role from the start. You will report to the Principal and work closely with him or her on several key matters

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary up to 23,000  AED (UAE Dirham) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
