Our client is currently seeking an experienced Special Education Needs (SEN) Teacher to join the fun and successful team based in Malaysia. This position is to commence in January 2016.
This international school has a large and modern campus which is situated only 45 minutes from the capital of Malaysia. It is also 15 minutes from the KL international airport, and 20 minutes from the Formula 1 racing circuit.
This private international school follows England and Wales national curriculum for students from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 aged 5-16. The work week consists of 30 – 35 hours 5 days a week, and teachers get approximately 50 days holiday per year.
Job description:
*Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for students with SEN
*Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of students with SEN
*Identify and teach study skills that will develop students’ ability to work independently
*Set targets for raising achievement among students with SEN
*Collect and interpret specialist assessment data
*Set up systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing SEN
*Develop understanding of learning need and the importance of raising achi9evement among students
*Keep parents informed about their child’s progress
*Identify resources needed to meet the needs of students with SEN
*Support and working closely with SENCO
