SeekTeachers is urgently recruiting for a Director of Performing Arts. This role is permanent and will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

The international school delivers the British National Curriculum for students from Key Stage 1 to 5 and also International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
 
The international school has 2 campuses, one being used for primary and the other for secondary. Both campuses are well-equipped with the latest technology and necessary supplies to build students’ learning.  Extensive extra-curricular programmes are offered to help students build an integrated approach to learning to guarantee students are prepared to play their part in society and pursuing higher level learning.
 
This is a private school with over 1,000 students in the whole school with majority local Egyptian students and 15% expatriate students.  There are also 120 well-trained staff in the school comprised of 70% expatriate teachers and 30% non-expatriate teachers.  Staff is continually provided professional development and support in all areas to build forward thinking instructors.
 
Role and responsibilities:
 
- To advise the Principal and Deputy Principal on all matters connected with the delivery of Performing Arts across the school
- To participate in curriculum development and relevant areas of school policy making
- To develop appropriate and differentiated schemes of work and to ensure that the aims and objectives for the teaching of Performing Arts are delivered
- To keep up-to-date about subject development to take part in the relevant CPD for this purpose
- To lead the Department's monitoring and Self Evaluation processes
- To promote and lead on the delivery of all extra-curricular Performing Arts activities in the school
- To demonstrate and encourage high standards of professionalism from all staff associated with the Department
- To line manage Performing Arts teaching and non-teaching staff
- To provide strong leadership that results in Performing Arts Department which provides first class teaching and learning opportunities for students and staff
- To provide Performing Arts within or outside the school

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
