SeekTeachers is hiring for a Head of Math to start in August 2015. This role is permanent and will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

The international school delivers the British National Curriculum for students from Key Stage 1 to 5 and also International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
 
The international school has 2 campuses, one being used for primary and the other for secondary. Both campuses are well-equipped with the latest technology and necessary supplies to build students’ learning.  Extensive extra-curricular programmes are offered to help students build an integrated approach to learning to guarantee students are prepared to play their part in society and pursuing higher level learning.
 
This is a private school with over 1,500 students in the whole school with majority local Egyptian students and 20% expatriate students. There are also 160 well-trained staff in the school comprised of 80% expatriate teachers and 20% non-expatriate teachers. Staff is continually provided professional development and support in all areas to build forward thinking instructors.

Role and responsibilities:
 
**To inspire and to generate an enthusiasm for the subject amongst teachers and pupils.
**To lead and to facilitate good teaching and learning.
**To develop and enhance the teaching practice of others.
**To be accountable for leading, managing and developing the Department.
**To raise standards of pupil attainment and achievement within the curriculum area and to monitor and support pupil progress.
**To be accountable for pupil progress and development within the curriculum area.
**To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for pupils studying in the Department, in accordance with the aims and policies of the school.
**To ensure regular and effective liaison with colleagues in the Preparatory School, Learning Support department, EFL department, ICT department and Library staff, as appropriate.
**To arrange lesson cover for absent colleagues, using the cover system (via the Academic Office) if the
lesson cannot be covered within the Department.
**To provide the best possible opportunities and educational experience in the subject, both in and out of the classroom, for pupils of all abilities and at all levels in the school.
**To ensure the provision of good quality teaching and of access to a range of activities as outlined in the scheme of work.
**To actively monitor and follow up pupil progress: to identify students who are underachieving and to implement effective, personalised interventions; and to challenge students who are working well to aspire yet further.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Prefer candidates with international experience

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted
