IB Chemistry Teacher needed in Abu Dhabi. Interviews will be done in Jan/Feb 2015 in Toronto, Canada - exact date and time is to be confirmed.
We are seeking a teacher who can deliver up to high school Chemistry level and has good knowledge of the IB MYP, IB DP or USA Common Core. The school has mainly Emirati students with about 10% expatriates. The teachers are mainly from USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom. Some of the teachers are local Arabs.
The school campus is new and has excellent facilities in the Science rooms. It is located very central and so you will have access to facilties quickly from your accommodation. The accommodation is fully furnished and walking distance from the school
Chemistry Teacher Requirements to apply:
**Degree in Chemistry
**A valid teaching license K-12 in Science
**A minimum of 2 years teaching experience
**Western trained
**Excellent command of written and spoken English
Chemistry Teacher Responsibilities:
**Preparing resources for Chemistry lessons
**Cleaning up after the class work is done
**Working with a TA to ensure you have all the equipment need to teach
**Using technology wherever needed to make the learning fun and
engaging
**Differentiate your lessons to meet the needs of your learners
**Carry out formative and summative assessment
**Ensure you are marking and giving feedback to your students
**Work closely with other teachers in the Chemistry depChemistryment
**Plan and deliver highly engaging lessons of Chemistry to students where
English is not the first language
**Be able to meet deadlines and targets set-forth by the management of
the school
**Make sure you have a safe teaching environment at all times
**Be responsible for your students results and data
**Help students that need additional support
**Carry out pastoral duties of a Form Tutor
**Do lunch time break duty
**Fill in for teachers that are absent
**Be a good role model for you students
**Promote students Chemistry work by having them in and around the classroom
**Have a firm but fair behaviour policy in your classroom at all times
