Description

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic SEN specialist to work for one of the popular international schools in Malaysia. The position is to further develop the support and provision for student with SEN within the school. You will work closely with SENCo and the school support team.
 
Malaysia is a country where natural wonders, modern amenities, and gastronomic delights are available for your pleasure. The amazing twin towers in the city, beautiful beaches along the coast, and Cameron highlands are a few of the attractions which make Malaysia unique.
 
This private international school follows the UK and Wales national curriculum for students from Year 1 to Year 11. The number of students in the school is 500 aged 5-16 composed of 20% expatriate students and 80% Malaysian national students.
 
Job descriptions
 
*Identify and adopt the most effective teaching approaches for students with SEN
*Monitor teaching and learning activities to meet the needs of students with SEN
*Set targets for raising achievement among students with SEN
*Set up systems for identifying, assessing and reviewing SEN
*Develop understanding of learning needs and the importance of raising achievement among students
*Teach 1 to 1 sessions with students with significant SEN
*Provide training opportunities for learning support assistants and other teachers to learn about SEN
*Participate in parents meeting
*Participate in development training activities
 
The school is located only 20 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur international airport and 15 minutes from the Formula 1 racing tracks.

The large campus is surrounding by green leafy and quiet environment with well-equipped facilities, include air-conditioned classrooms, interactive whiteboard (IWB), libraries, science labs, computer labs, art room, music room, multi-purpose hall, indoor swimming pool, basketball courts, football fields, medical room, prayer room and cafeteria.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification
Experience:
2 Years
Type of Staff:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted
Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted
Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary from 7,000 up to 9,000  MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
Housing:
Housing allowance of RM1,000  MYR (Malaysian Ringgit) provided
