SeekTeachers is looking for a Head of Education which is effectively the role of an EYFS Team Leader/Coordinator for a small but growing nursery in Qatar.

Job Description is below

To provide the education of each child following the EYFS curriculum, safety, high quality and care for nursery children; to supervise staff on a day to day basis to ensure they are providing the above and contribute to and implement nursery policies. To organise the yearly academic calendar and medium term plans, each class timetable, staff breaks and indoor area timetable. To ensure that high quality reports are being provided for each child. To provide in house training to staff, assess the staff on a biannual basis, deal with any disciplinary action, guide and support all staff, organise staff distribution on a daily basis to ensure that there is enough cover throughout the nursery. To deal with parent complaints and queries, provide educational information to parents via a monthly newsletter and deal with any enquiries that the nursery may have.
 
Main Functions
 
Education:  
  1. Ensure that each child is working towards the correct learning outcome within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for their age
  2. To ensure that the staff are providing high quality teaching and offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children
  3. To ensure that the staff have a good understanding of the curriculum, as well as up to date information with regards to providing high quality education and childcare
  4. To ensure that there is sufficient distribution of staff that will allow the smooth running of the nursery
  5. Supervise the daily programme of nursery activities and events              
  6. To monitor the quality of teaching to identify in-service training needs 
  7. To organise the yearly medium term plans and academic calendar
  8. To proof read and adjust reports accordingly for each child
  9. Implementing the nursery's mission and vision 
Parents:
  1. Ensure that parent's complaints or concerns are always taken into consideration and resolved in accordance to the nursery policies in order to reach satisfaction 
  2. To maintain a high level of communication with parents 
  3. To ensure that the parents are adhering to the policies and procedures of the nursery
  4. To liaise closely with parents, informing them about the nursery and the curriculum, exchanging information about the children’s progress and encouraging parental involvement.
  5. To show perspective parents around the nursery
Staff: 
  1. To ensure that staffs are providing high quality education to the children that is following the EYFS curriculum.
  2. To ensure that the teachers are providing high quality planning which is following the EYFS curriculum
  3. To ensure that the teachers are providing high quality reports that are meeting the learning goals set out in the EYFS
  4. Ensure that staff are following the nursery's policies and procedures
  5. Resolve day to day minor staff issues, ensuring that staff work and help each other in a harmonic atmosphere. 
  6. Coach and conduct training for staff to strengthen their performance 
  7. Conduct evaluations for new staff after one month of joining and existing staff every 6 months
  8. Ensure that teachers are fully responsible for the cleanliness of their classes and that cupboards are always well organised. 
Nursery’s overall Rules/Guidelines: 
  1. Conduct from time to time surveys to assess the quality of services and analyse the results with the director and owner  
  2. To contribute to and implement all nursery policies and procedures
  3. Set the nursery's calendar 
  4. To carry out the above duties in accordance with Ministry of Social Affairs policies. 
Nursery’s Hygiene/Safety/Values: 
  1. Ensure that the nursery is always clean, staff must be aware of the importance of personal hygiene and follow appropriate procedures. 
  2. To ensure that the nursery is a safe environment for children, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene are high, safety procedures are implemented at all times and fire drills/evacuation procedures are carried out effectively.    
  3. Ensure that staff are maintaining the value of toys, books, equipment in the nursery
  4. Ensure that the children are clean at all times and to address any concern to his/her class teacher.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: Degree in Early Childhood with QTS or EYPS status
Experience:
2 Years
Type of Staff:

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)
Must be a native speaker of English
Prefer candidates with international experience
Additional:
**Experience of working in the Middle East is preferred
**If you have lead a small nursery this will be beneficial

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
A salary up to 12000  QAR (Qatar Riyal) per month based on experience and qualification, TAX FREE
Housing:
1 bedroom  fully furnished Housing provided
Medical:
State/Public medical provided
Gratuity Amount:
Gratuity Amount of Bonus pay is as per Qatar Labour law is provided
Contract Length:
2 years contract renewable on mutual agreement
