SeekTeachers is currently looking for a committed and responsible Director of Learning Technology on behalf of our prestigious client.  This role is permanent and will be based in Shanghai, China. 
 
This private school has 2 campuses in the city, primary and secondary.  The primary department is located in the heart of the city where it is in the protected architectural heritage area of Shanghai.  The secondary department is situated at the suburb of the city which is only 30 minute drive from the SWFC the tallest building in China and it is also reachable by the metro too.  
 
Both campuses are well-equipped with the latest technology and necessary supplies to build students’ learning.  Extensive extra-curricular programmes are offered to help students build an integrated approach to learning to guarantee students are prepared to play their part in society and pursuing higher level learning.  Their approach of instruction is based on the Chinese and UK national curriculum.  They also focus on the best international education practice which encompasses the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and IGCSE.  
 
This is a private school with 1,000 students in the whole school with majority local Chinese students and 15% expatriate students.  There are also 100 well-trained staff in the school composed of 70% expatriate teachers and 30% non-expatriate teachers.   Staff is continually provided professional development and support in all areas to build forward thinking instructors.
 
Job descriptions:
 
1. Teaching and Learning
Teaching workload (determined by Executive Principals)
Plan, create and implement technology programmes for both Primary and Secondary divisions

2. Curriculum Delivery
Work closely with Primary and Secondary Executive Principals and Curriculum Directors to create a combined curriculum in which IT is integrated to support teaching and learning
Connect both campuses through communication technology solutions

3. Professional Leadership
Participate in senior leadership meetings in both Primary and Secondary divisions

4. Motivating Staff
With the support of the Executive Principals, develop, manage and lead Professional Development opportunities for faculty and staff
Be accessible and receptive to requests for help

5. Relationship management
Manage IT team and work closely with IT Supervisor to ensure IT infrastructure fully supports the IT needs of both campuses and the curriculum

6. Administrative Function
With the support of the Executive Principals, work to develop the yearly budget for both campuses for technology
Work to integrate the use of PASS in the daily operations of the school
Assists in the development of long and short term plans in relation to hardware and software, telecommunication, specialised networking activities, etc. (e.g. policies, procedures, staffing, budgets, materials, equipment, space requirements, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining leadership in the field and/or ensuring organisational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.

7. Contribution to non-classroom life of the school 
Play a full part in the corporate life of the school
 
Minimum requirements:
 
**Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or relevant subject
**Experience in managing and implementing IT systems
**Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and use
**Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in IT
**Minimum 3 years of school management experience
**Native English speaker
**Excellent team player as well as work individually
**Be able to work under pressure
**Flexible, adaptable and open to learning about new cultures

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:
Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
