A British curriculum school in Dubai is looking got a Head of Maths to begin in January 2015
The school is hiring now for the position and wants someone highly experienced in managing the mathematics department for the next academic year. You need at least 3 years’ experience as a mathematics teacher and it as head of department. The school is located about 10 minutes from main zone of Dubai and has about 1500 students and growing. The management and staff are mainly from England and so if you are applying for this role it is essential you have excellent knowledge of the British national curriculum up to Key Stage 5.
The students come from various nationalities and are keen to learn so there will be little requirement of behaviour management at the school. The principal is established from the uk with previous experience of managing schools in the Middle East
Job description
**Manage a small department of mathematics teachers
**Deliver high quality lesson of maths
**Carry out formative assessment and differentiation during your lessons
**Lead the department by ensuring good practise is delivered in all lessons
**Be a strong communicator
**Carry out staff insets Contribute to the weekly staff debriefing
**Plan ahead for your department to ensure targets are being met
**Carry out maths teacher observation
**Be able to integrate technology into your classroom and of your department
**Review your department’s progress and provide constructive feedback to help teachers in your department raise their standard
**Report to the Head of Secondary
**Assist in after school activities
**Be flexible to adapt to the working culture of Dubai
