Based in the gorgeous rural Austrian Lake District and reminiscent of the movie “The Sound of Music”, you will be volunteering to teach English and German speaking students between the ages of 8 and 15. In recent decades, bilingual education has risen up strongly throughout the country and this increased popularity has spurred on the non-profit organization ABCi’s outreach program to expand further.
Focused deeply on bringing free English lessons to rural and often-unseen children in the Alpine region, ABCi’s scheme features teaching across a range of schools using on-site project weeks and online methods via Virtual Learning Environments. This means as a successful candidate, you will be travelling throughout the country and will be being given experience in the administration of an NGO in education through taking part in project work and program development at HQ.

After the program ends at the end of the three month term, candidates will be awarded a Trinity College TESOL Certificate (with 6 hours observed teaching) and a TEFL Certificate for Young Learners (with 48 hours of observed teaching).
