Description

The Deputy Director is responsible for supporting the Director in the leadership and management of the day-to-day functioning of school. This person works in continuous communication with the Director and all stakeholders, sharing accountability for setting, implementing, monitoring and reviewing school wide educational plans and programmes that result in students achieving academic success and personal growth in accordance with school vision, philosophy, and policies.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Education:
  • Bachelors’ degree.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Masters Degree in a field of education or educational management is preferred.  
These must be acceptable to ADEC

Experience:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working as a teacher.
  • At least 3 years experience working as a school senior administrator.
  • Must have taken an active part as a leader in a relevant school accreditation process.
  • Computer Literate: able to use word processing, spreadsheets and data processing packages.
  • An excellent command of English is essential, Arabic is desirable.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
  • Able to demonstrate and promote professional leadership qualities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of school vision, philosophy and policies.
  • Able to effectively manage time and work to meet the needs of a competent and committed school leader.
  • Be well organised and be flexible to work extra hours.
  • Able to organise, guide and encourage school community to help improve student achievement.
  • Knowledge and ability to work within budgets to better student achievement.
  • Experience in school improvement and setting operational budgets.
  • Have a strong understanding of the local cultural and social beliefs and behaviours of school families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of national education priorities.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:
Minimum Qualification Requirement: B.Ed, BA Degree with a relevant PGCE (QTS/GTC/GTP)
