Starting the new year is crucial to get everyone back into the learning environment efficiently especially if you are changing classroom and new students are involved. Here are some beneficial tips that can help you start the new year more productive and organised:

1.       Keep the first day back easy!

This is ultimate to allow students to introduce to peers and teachers to function smoothly and break the nerves as moving into the new academic year can be difficult for some students and teachers to keep it fun; cool with educational games and videos to get to know each student. You can view teacher resources and useful informative exciting activities online that will help you in an easier transition.

2.       Decorate the classroom with suitable posters for the grade

It is stimulating to include colourful, bright knowledgeable posters for the students around the classroom associating to the relevant key stage/grade as it makes it a healthy, inspiring environment for the students to learn proficiently. You can even include a warm greeting message on the classroom with the grade level labelled and include each pupils name on their desk as well yours as a teacher.

3.       Keep everything organised in an All-in-One Folder

This is the best way to start the new academic year fresh with a single folder to keep everything planned and in one place by using dividers that include index multicoloured tabs to save time by carrying a single binder with all the necessary information.

4.       Make them aware of the plans for this new year

You can create simple ‘survival kit’ bags for all students that contain stationary with useful resources/books to keep them informed linking to their grade level and eager to learn. Students love receiving items especially when it’s related to school. This is a great way to help them focus and keep an enthusiastic atmosphere!

5.       Send a mini-newsletter home on the first day of school

This helps the parents and students prepare better for the new academic year to keep everyone in the loop throughout the year and what’s happening in each term. It’s good to include essential information about the updated policies, dress code, schools’ hours and contact information even emails, FREE-text for parents to inform easily or certain app information to create profiles with all updated school information and what can be valuable for the students to stay interactive and determined to reach high scores!
