Schools in the Northern Emirates region have been confirmed as weak and underachieving schools. Emirati students have been prevented from attending 47 private schools that have a very low ranking and poor status in comparison to good – high performing schools. This action has been taken to stop students from achieving an education at a poor-quality school that will risk their learning and ability to succeed as they grow.

Parents have been told to not allow their children to study at any of these schools by the Ministry of
Education. These poor achieving schools have been informed to not allow admission for new Emirati pupils, but existing students can stay. This has been ongoing since July 2016 to stop UAE citizens from funding or submitting at low ranking private schools.

However, the Leader of Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, did confirm that failing schools will receive necessary support for development and to raise their standards of teaching for better results. He also stated, that private schools will be fully reformed, and it is undergoing to process each school and boost the education sector of UAE. All schools will receive feedback with their strengths, weaknesses and how they can improve their level of education.

This will increase the progression of all schools; focusing on the very weak schools first and building its way to stronger and better education for students to make UAE one of the best education market worldwide. This is great for the younger generation in long-term to accomplish higher scores in schools and encourage them to become smart, young professionals to set a target for the future generation.
